Bible Verses of the Day

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. [2 Corinthians 10:3-6, ESV]

Eight newspapers owned byĀ Alden Global Capitalā€™sĀ MediaNews GroupĀ are reportedly suingĀ MicrosoftĀ andĀ OpenAI, alleging that the tech companies used the newspapersā€™ content to train artificial intelligence (AI) models.Ā

The newspapers, which include theĀ New York Daily NewsĀ andĀ Chicago Tribune, filed their suit in New York federal court on Tuesday (April 30), ReutersĀ reported Tuesday.Ā

They allege that the two tech companies copied millions of their articles to train Microsoftā€™s Copilot and OpenAIā€™s ChatGPT, adding that the AI systems reproduce the newspapersā€™ copyrighted content and that ChatGPT ā€œhallucinatesā€ articles and falsely attributes them to the newspapers, according to the report.

A lawyer for the MediaNews publications told Reuters that the defendants ā€œthink somehow they can get away with taking contentā€ without payment or permission, per the report.Ā

Sanctuary AI and Microsoft will work together to bolster research and development into humanoid robotics, focusing on building Large Behavior Models (LBMs), which are similar to Large Language Models (LLMs) but help robots learn from real-world environments and experiences, as opposed to learning from computer simulations.

Sanctuary AI will bring their deep robotic development technical expertise and experienceā€“which includes the development of their ā€œrobot brainā€, called Carbon (powered by LBMs)--to the collaboration, and Microsoft will power the AI workloadsā€“involving training, networking, and storageā€“with their Azure cloud resources.
